Isadora Jieun Kim

Isadora Jieun Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She started playing the piano at the age of 4.After finishing elementary school, her family immigrated to Vietnam, and due to the family’s bad financial situation, she learned to play piano through YouTube, by listening to recordings of famous pianists from around the world.


When Isadora was 16, she made her debut at Carnegie Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium (New York, USA), where she performed Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with
the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).


In 2012, After the concert at Carnegie Hall she went to Israel and worked there as a volunteer for about a year, helping Jews with physical and mental disabilities. After volunteering, she returned to her homeland, South Korea, and performed as a pianist in many concerts. At the same time, Isadora published her autobiography, ‘The Strange Pianist’, in which she wrote the story of her life, including her childhood and misfortunes, how she started playing the piano, and her volunteer experiences.


In 2022, Isadora graduated with honors from P. I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (Moscow, Russia) under the guidance of Prof. Ruvim Ostrovsky. Now she is continuing her studies at Music and Arts university of the city of Vienna (MUK) under Prof. Jura Margulis.


Isadora Jieun Kim is a laureate of international music competitions, including ‘Città di Villafranca’ (Italy), ‘Vienna New Year’s Concert’ (Austria), ‘San Donà di Piave’ (Italy), ‘Rizzardo Bino’ (Italy), ‘Con Fuoco’
(Russia), and ‘Sirmium Music Fest’ (Serbia). Besides the competitions, she also performed in a number of famous concert halls in Korea, USA, China, Russia, Armenia.
